Yesterday I went to see my friend S, who just delivered a baby. She was lying on the hospital bed, with her new-born baby sleeping on her chest. Normally she would be very attentive and gracious to a guest, but yesterday she looked dazed and tired. I realized what an ordeal she has gone through.
S is a very sweet woman, who always pay attention to others’ need when she is with you. She asks questions and pay attention to your life. She is a good friend, a good daughter, a good wife, and will be a good mother. By her humility and appreciation for others, she brought light to people around her. She offered help when I most needed them and without my asking. I was deeply moved.
S is also very self-sufficient. She plans her everything in advance, and creates contingency plan. Thus she does not depend on other people’s favors. Even when she needs help, she always offers more than she asks. I am amazed by her ability to give.
A true friend is someone who is dependable, and who you can count like a family. I say such things for S. We talk at most one a week, but we can pick up from wherever it is left, and continue with no problem. I feel that she is like my sister, dependable, loving and blossoming.
Now she has become a mother, my best wishes go out for her.
